Travel: The Blue Mountains
About two hours Northwest of Sydney are the Blue Mountains, which, as you can see below, is a beautiful, peaceful place to hike and camp. My friends took me on an all-day bushwalk down the cliffs to the right, along a stream on the valley floor, through the Blue Gum Forest (bottom panorama), and back up to the top around the corner on the left picture. It was a great hike but a grueling climb at the end. This is Bridal Veil Falls at the start of the hike. It was so thin and wispy, it actually did look like a bridal veil. You can't quite see the falls at the right edge of the photo above, but trust me, it's there.
This is a panorama of the Blue Gum Forest, a very peaceful place near the end of our hike. We stopped here for lunch, though the huge red ants took a few bites out of us as well. It was the perfect light while we were there. By the way, Gum trees in Australia are equivalent to Eucalyptus trees in the USA in case you thought they looked familiar.
