Travel: Finland

I first visited Finland in 1993 in the Winter, and despite the fact that I arrived without any of my baggage, it is a wonderful place. Helsinki, of course, is a cool city and there is a vibrant multimedia community there, but Tampere is more Finnish and less cosmopolitan, I think. It is a beautiful little town nestled between two lakes with a river and waterfalls flowing right through the center of town. This is depicted on their 20 Markka bill and this is my own photograph of the same thing:
