Travel: Norway
I first went to Norway during my trip to Finland in 1993. I have been back once since and love this country. OK, I've only really been around Oslo, Lillehammer, and Sandefjord, but I still feel very at home here. I came to visit some good friends and found a great environment in which a city and the surrounding countryside coexist very well. I even know where to find cranberries, fresh basil, and fresh cilantro when I feel homesick. I've only been to Oslo during the Winter and late Autumn, but the Summers, I hear, are warm and wonderful.
This is Winter (early) in downtown Oslo on Karl Johan Gatta (the central drag):

Oslo Harbor is beautiful as well and only a few blocks away:

When someone asks you along for a walk" in Norway on the weekend, they mean all day! They don't let the weather stop them, and they take the whole family. Here's my friend Spike with Anne and their first son, Christopher (that's also them on the trail on the right):
