Travel: Montebello Ridge

This is a special place for me. It is high above Silicon Valley and offers an amzing view of the Valley and the Bay. This are pictures of my friend Mark Rounds who found this place (at least among our group of friends) and made it his duty to discover every cool place in the hills and mountains surrounding Los Altos and Cupertino. My favorite winery is up here, Ridge Winery, and on an Autumn evening, you can drive up to the top, park (illegally) and walk along the fence that separates the vineyards from the fire trail and smell the ripe grapes in the air (something we did often). The air is so heady with the smell of fermenting grapes, that it is as if you had a bottle of wine right under your nose.
